TV personality Jerry Springer launches newest internet station exclusively featuring unsigned musicians:  UndergroundColumbus.com!

The Ohio Center for Broadcasting’s Columbus Campus made history on Wednesday, October 15th by launching the internet station UndergroundColumbus.com.  TV Personality Jerry Springer kicked things off with an introductory message (listen here), celebrating local musicians everywhere.

UndergroundColumbus.com uniquely serves an audience of music-lovers with locally produced independent and unsigned local artists. The music varies from modern rock to hip hop, and the station is staffed by students at Ohio Center for Broadcasting. Education Director Jack DeVoss, who worked previously as Music Director at Columbus Alternative Station CD 101, is serving as Program Director for UndergroundColumbus.com.   DeVoss says “We have two exceptional purposes with UndergroundColumbus.com.  We’re creating a terrific platform for unsigned artists—and we are offering an outstanding opportunity for students to start their broadcast careers.”

Later the same day, acoustic performances dubbed the “OCB Sessions, Volume one” continued the celebration of unsigned music.  Local acts Jared Mahone Band, Andy Shaw Band, and the Blastronauts performed at the school in the first of a series of concerts to be hosted by OCB.

Independent artists are invited to submit their music for airplay now at www.undergroundcolumbus.com. All unsigned bands and artists are welcome!
